On Monday March 26th, 2018, the activities of UMI-Sci-Ed project were presented to the students of the last year studies of Lyceums from the local region of the city of Patras, Greece.
The event took place, under the “Schools go to the University Program: 2017-18”, organized by the University of Patras and hosted at the premises of Computer Engineering & Informatics Department (CEID) of the University of Patras. The UMI-Sci-Ed project was introduced by Assoc. Prof. Nicolas Sklavos.
The “Schools go to the University Program: 2017-18” is widely disseminated by electronic means on social media and through a targeted e-mail campaign.
In the first part of the event, Nicolas Sklavos introduced the UMI-Sci-Ed project in his opening presentation and presented project objectives and achievements. The second part started with detailed overview about the technological infrastructure of the project. The last part was dedicated to and one of its educational scenarios, entitled “Internet of Things (IoTs) Security & Privacy”, given by the same presenter.
In the discussion that followed, the students expressed their strong interest in the UMI-Sci-Ed project, especially for the presented educational scenario and the platform. The positive outcomes are the interesting questions, the fruitful exchange of opinions and the high expression of interest, shown by the students and school teachers for participation in the piloting phase of the project.
